1. How much does a building permit cost?

The cost of a building permit is dependant upon how much it costs you to complete the project, labor and materials. The town goes off a rate table to determine the building permit fe. In addition to the permit fee, a use tax is charged. For further information regarding permits, please refer to our Building Inspections page.

2. How is the use tax on a building permit determined?

A 2% use tax is applied to the building materials. However, if the project is submitted with the cost of materials and labor combined, the charge will be 1% of the total.
